Maintenance Protection Plan

The Maintenance Protection Plan (Plan) is an optional monthly offering that is a substitute for the trip charge that is billed to the customer when a Meridian technician is required to come to the customer premise to make equipment adjustments. This Plan is offered by Meridian LTE, LLC dba Meridian Broadband (“Meridian”) to Meridian customers only.

 Terms and Conditions

For a monthly fee of $9.95, the Maintenance Protection Plan provides customer protection against trip charges when required to assist the customer with their Broadband Internet Service. The Maintenance Protection Plan is an optional service that the customer may subscribe to.

What is not included in the Maintenance Protection Plan?

  • Repair of other devices, such as computer modems.
  • Damage due to natural disasters or floods, other than lightning.
  • Damage due to gross negligence, willful damage or vandalism.

 Charges

By requesting the Maintenance Protection Plan, the customer agrees to pay Meridian’s current monthly charge for the service, as well as any taxes and fees assessed on the service. There is no additional activation charge to customers who wish to request the Maintenance Protection Plan after Internet Service is established.

If the customer has not subscribed to the Maintenance Protection Plan and requests Meridian to come to the customer premise to assist with their Internet Service, the charges billed to the customer by Meridian will be a trip charge of $85.00 per hour per technician.

 Cancellation of Service

The customer may cancel the Maintenance Protection Plan service at any time by calling Meridian’s business office. Charges are prorated to the date service is canceled, except that, for the first month, there is a minimum of one month billing. There is no charge for canceling the service. Meridian may cancel the Maintenance Protection Plan upon a customer’s failure to timely pay the charges for the Plan or in instances where there has been an abuse of the Plan. An abuse of the Plan occurs when a customer repeatedly causes or permits damage to occur to their Broadband Internet Service. If the Maintenance Protection Plan service is reordered after cancellation, there is a thirty (30) day waiting period before the service becomes effective.

 Amendment of Contract

Meridian reserves the right to discontinue offering the Maintenance Protection Plan, or to amend the terms and conditions, including increasing the prices, by giving the Maintenance Protection Plan customers at least one month’s written notice of the contract amendment, change in the charges, or discontinuance of the offering. This notice may be in the form of a notice included with or as part of the customer’s monthly bill. By paying the monthly charge after the effective date of the notice, the customer agrees to be bound by the amendment or change in charges and agrees to the terms of this contract.
